Thank you for choosing to use Shipmed to assist you with the medical aspect of your Immigration process to New Zealand. We strive to make it as simple and seamless as possible. Please be aware that this maybe a lengthy process, especially with the X-ray department to be aware that the whole process may take a number of hours, but we will endeavour to make the process as smooth and pleasant as possible.

NB ANY NON DISCLOSURE MAY RESULT IN THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE VISA BY THE INZ EVEN AFTER YOU HAVE ARRIVED IN New Zealand

To understand the need for these examinations here are a few reasons the IME (Immigration Medical Examination) are performed by Shipmed on behalf of the New Zealand government.

  1. To protect New Zealand against any infectious or public health risk.
  2. To protect the healthcare system of New Zealand and to avoid excluding this service to the New Zealand public
  3. To prevent the financial risk to the New Zealand Healthcare system and the citizens of the State

Dress code: You will be required to undress to your underwear. We have examination gowns that we will provide to you. Please wear appropriate underwear. Click here to download the guide.

Ladies over 40. We will require to do a breast examination in all ladies over the age of 40. If you would prefer we can accept a mammogram that is no older than 3 months.
